How many degrees are there in the angle between the hour and minute hands of a clock when the time is a quarter past three?

-12 hours * 60 min = 720 min for hour hand to go 360 deg
-hour hand goes .5 deg/min
-at 3:15 the min hand is 90 deg, the hour hand is 7.5 deg past that … or 195 min * .5 deg/min = 97.5 deg
